Before arriving in Florence, we could stop in Orvieto, a beautiful medieval city, and take you to see the Duomo, a marvellous example of Italian Gothic art, the Pozzo di San Patrizio, an ancient waterworks, and the underground city carved out of caves and labyrinths.
Florence is home to many artistic treasures: museums, palaces and churches that you can visit on your own with the UARA Limousine Florence tour. The driver assigned to this tour will take you to the most famous sites. You will start the tour at the Baptistery and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, one of the symbols of Florence, with the largest masonry dome ever built by Brunelleschi and the Bell Tower designed by Giotto. Inside Florence Dome is the Crucifix, both by Giotto and Brunelleschi, many frescoes and Masaccio’s Trinity.
The cathedral is a wonderful example of ‘Tuscan Romanesque’ construction, made of white, black and green marble.
While the driver waits, you can go to Ponte Vecchio and stroll around the old medieval shops. You will then meet up with Palazzo Vecchio, where a copy of Michelangelo’s David is kept at the entrance, a beautiful palace overlooking Piazza della Signoria, the centre of Florence.
We also recommend a visit to the Brancacci Chapel in the church of Santa Maria del Carmine, the Basilica of Santa Croce where the tombs of Galileo Galilei and Michelangelo are located, the Accademia Gallery and Palazzo Pitti where priceless works of art are kept. Finally, we recommend a walk in the monumental Boboli Gardens.
